Assisting with Vigil Planning
Creating a plan to have a loving and peaceful environment during your transition.
This may include music selections, scent, lighting, or determining whom you would like as attendees during this time. Considering these options can help reduce confusion and establish a plan for your wishes and vision.
The vigil may also include time for complimentary support such as aromatherapy, energy work and massage.
Vigil planning brings presence and awareness to the dying process, making your transition more peaceful and comforting. And, as additional needs arise, we can work together to meet those needs.
Grief and remembrance support
After transition, it is important to understand that your loved ones need time to process your journey. Holding space for these memories and experiences are vitally important to help them in their grief. These might include options for reflection by using:
- guided imagery
- music
- ritual
to bring meaning and promote healing.
Referrals to bereavement and community services, such as social work or chaplain, are also available during this time.
Creating a remembrance/ legacy project
Which could include photo collections, videos, artwork, music collections, cookbook/family recipe collections.
Services not provided:
I am not a replacement for hospice, clergy or funeral services.
Working together, we can create a path that has meaning, purpose and presence. Please feel free to contact me for a consultation. It would be an honor to be of service.
Warmly,
Kathleen MacKenzie, LMT
